Co-founder & Executive Director
Seth is an educator, teacher, and entrepreneur. He is founder & CEO of Tutorpedia, Inc. and co-founder of Tutorpedia Foundation, providing 1-1 tutoring and mentoring to K-12 students. Seth has taught and tutored high school math, science, and SAT prep for over 20 years at Sacred Heart Preparatory (Atherton, CA), Lionel Wilson College Preparatory (Oakland, CA), and The Met (Providence, RI). Seth is a licensed bartender and seasoned artist, he is an avid traveler, a new parent, a photo-hobbyist, and a lifelong learner. He received his Bachelors degree from Stanford University and Masters of Arts in Teaching from Brown University.
Cofounder & Program Director
David is the co-founder and Program Director of the Tutorpedia Foundation, where he spends most of his time dreaming up ways to improve the US education system through personalized learning. In his fleeting spare time, David plays guitar and is working on finishing a book about Evolutionary Psychology titled The Fishbowl Principle. He also has the tendency to disappear into incredibly remote sections of the Sierra Nevadas and corners of Southern Utah for days at a time when given the chance.David grew up in Milwaukee, WI. After graduating from Brown University in 2001 with a degree in psychology, David moved to Boston, MA. There he earned his Masters degree in Education and teaching credential at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education in 2004, and taught high school biology and psychology in the Boston Public Schools. When David moved to San Francisco in 2006 he through-hiked the High Sierra and John Muir Trails, then spent a season as a Naturalist in the Marin Headlands, and taught science at a charter high school.
Director of Operations & Development
Diaris Alexander first became involved in the local nonprofit arena as a founding member of a youth media non-profit organization in Oakland, CA during high school. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles as a Gates Millennium Scholar where she contributed to large-scale marketing and development campaigns for campus organizations in addition to internships with DEEP-LA and Creative Artists Agency. Diaris earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Theater and was awarded a Master of Arts in Organization and Leadership by the University of San Francisco in May 2012. Diaris joined Tutorpedia Foundation in February 2012 as the part-time Operations Manager. In addition to providing operational support, she currently leads development and marketing/communications for Tutorpedia Foundation.
Communications & Administrative Assistant
Gitanjali is the Communications and Administrative Assistant for Tutorpedia Foundation. She endeavors to be the backbone of the team by providing solid organizational and office support. Her background includes strategic communication roles in the corporate and social sectors. Gitanjali believes in working for strong mission-driven organizations and works actively as a volunteer for various organizations in the Bay Area. She is currently serving as the Professional Development Co-Manager for YNPN San Francisco Chapter. Gitanjali’s education includes a Bachelor in Economics from Delhi University, India and a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communications from Symbiosis University, Pune, India.
